It is always a real challenge to integrate green building practices into the environmental education for children. The recent energy efficient modernisation of Móra Ferenc Public Primary School in Zugló (XIV. district, Budapest) provided an extraordinary opportunity for us to teach it’s students about the importance, tools and benefits of green building.

Led by Éva Beleznay, ABUD designed an interactive educational process. The program, carried out in cooperation with the teachers and environmental experts, incorporates creative idea-competitions, workshops and exhibitions. In the frames of the first event, students gave an open form presentation, focusing on the question: ’How would you make your school more energy-efficient?’. The second event will take place on the occasion of the international Earth Day.

The renovation of the school has been realized by the Zugló Municipality with the support of EEA Grants.
