Mérték Studio won the public tender for the permission and construction plans of the Pannon Park which had been announced by the Budapest Zoo. All the work related to sustainaiblity and energy design is provided by ABUD.
The design phase started in December 2014, in accordance with the concept the central facility of the Pannon Park will be called a Biodome. Inside the Biodome – nearly 18 thousand square meters of floor space – a subtropical climate inhabited with plants and animals will be shown to the visitors. One half of the Biodome will be the pannon wilderness while the other half will be the pannon sea aquarium. In addition to the a Biodome a visitor centre, a range of outdoor animal yards, other entertainment and educational buildings are also connected.
The proposed development includes prominent green building solutions and will acquire BREEAM certification.
