One of the reasons we love to work on local climate strategy projects is that we get to meet and talk to people, learn from them, engage and educate. In the frames of the climate strategy development for the 18th district of Budapest, we organized a Climate Cup for schools and kindergartens with 19 special climate challenges. Participants could learn about the effects of climate change in a playful way. Their enthusiasm was overwhelming, 14 schools were participating with more than 1500 children, resulting in over 3700 assignment solutions. During the Climate Cup, children, parents, teachers, local businesses and NGOs worked together on the challenges, from building habitat for animals or designing climate-superheroes, to sewing shopping bags from old t-shirts or creating green strategy for their schools.
