Dr. András Reith, CEO of ABUD has been rewarded by Gábor Dénes Award, the highest national acknowledgement in the field of innovation and research in engineering. The award was presented to Dr. Reith and 14 other scientists and engineers on December 17 at the Hungarian Parliament.
Dr. Reith was recognized primarily for his price for his achievements in the systemic design of sustainable and energy efficient buildings in Hungary; his decisive role in the introduction, adaptation and promotion of IDP (Integrated Design Process); his contibrution to establishing the energy-related building occupant behavioral research in Hungary; his contribution to the calculating and operationalising the multiple benefits of energy efficiency in Europe; for his role as principal investigator for the research identifying ecological and economic impact of energy efficiency measures on the global building stock; for the implementation of smart city models in strategic urban planning.
„Innovation always depends on a team: the award is the company’s biggest acknowledgement so far, not solely mine” – said Dr. Reith, thanking all former and recent ABUD colleagues for the hard work and dedication.
The Gabor Denes Prize was established in 1989 is awarded by a committee under the auspices of the NOVOFER Foundation. The prize is awarded to professionals with outstanding scientific or intellectual creations, thus promoting environmental preservation and technological development. The award is named for physicist, electrical engineer, and humanist Dennis Gabor (1900-1979, known as Gabor Denes in Hungarian), who won the 1971 Nobel Prize in Physics for inventing the hologram.
