On May 18th on the UC Berkeley campus IBPSA-USA-SF hosted a joint professional and student chapter meeting showcasing the work of all members. IBPSA-USA-SF is the San Francisco Chapter of the United States regional affiliate of the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA).
This was an open forum, in which all members are invited to give a short presentation on relevant work they have been doing in the past year (professional, research, or other, related to IBPSA).
Amongst many professionals during the annual project showcase our colleague, Zsófia Bélafi presented her work on the modeling possibilities of occupant behavior. She introduced the modeling tools developed at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the application possibilities for building energy modelers. Zsófia is working on occupant information modeling, on the development of an ontology and XML schema to standardize the representation of occupant energy behavior in buildings for interoperability.
