E-Co-Housing

Co-creating a regenerative housing project together with the community

Availability of social and affordable housing has significantly decreased in the last few decades across Europe, and particularly in Hungary. The burden of providing social housing dwellings is increasingly put on local governments, which struggle to find the funds and solutions to tackle this issue.

E-Co-Housing is comprehensively addressing this problem by providing a model for establishment of a regenerative social housing community, co-created by municipality and its residents. Systemic interconnected approach implemented in E-Co-Housing, considers multi-layered effects of urban sprawl, resource and energy efficiency, smart IT solutions, collaborative and circular economy.

Trying to motivate future resident to cohabitate in a collaborative way, E-Co-Housing is including them already in the design project phase, to foster co-design process of local environment and the dwellings.

As the Implementation Work Package leader and contributor in several other work packages, ABUD provides sustainability and participatory design consultancy for the construction, architectural design and the co-creation of the built urban environment.
