Open House Research Project

Development and Implementation of a Common European Transparent Building Assessment Methodology

OPEN HOUSE (OH) is an Integrated Project launched and funded by the European Seventh Framework Program, under Theme 6: “Environment”. OH is a 3-year medium scale focused research project and relies on the contribution of 19 European partners located in 11 countries, consisting of non-profit institutes and foundations, research institutions, policy makers and businesses.

The aim of the OH project is to develop and implement a European green building assessment methodology for planning and constructing sustainable buildings by means of an open approach and technical platform. For the evaluation and refinement of the OH methodology, 68 buildings were identified among 25 countries. Two Hungarian case studies and the applicability of the system was assessed by our experts, serving as a basis for refining the methodology.
