Primoz was involved in a project related to sustainable urban renovation of the 5th (historical) district in Budapest. He analysed the energy potential of the area, the social cooperation and integration of the community, and the economic feasibility for the complete renovation of the historic district.
Based on his research Primoz suggested a special “large scale” financial scheme concept “Energy performance contracting” (EPC), which could represent a valid option for the sustainable funding of such a project. After his highly professional and motivating final presentation we wished him good luck for his PhD dissertation, and asked him about his placement experiences.
Why did you choose ABUD while you were looking for your Host company?
I chose ABUD, because ABUD is one of the most innovative company in providing sustainable holistic urban solutions in the region. ABUD is also developing many different international “neighbourhood-scale” sustainable projects, which are closely correlated to my research topic about “sustainable neighbourhoods modeling”.
How do you see ABUD now, from the inside, is it different than expected?
When I started my placement at ABUD, I could better understood the organization of the company, which is on very high level. I was also pleasantly surprised about the high motivation and the strong work ethic of the ABUD’s team.
What do you think, what will you take with yourself from ABUD after the placement?
I would definitely like to take the ABUD’s "openness to new ideas". I really appreciate that ABUD is taking seriously in consideration all the new ideas, also if they are a little bit different from what they expected. I also really appreciate ABUD’s flexibility related to the project development.
