StepUP

Development of a holistic renovation methodology and life-cycle platform to make deep energy renovation more attractive and reliable.

StepUP developed a new methodology for deep renovation for decarbonisation, with fast design to operation feedback loops to minimise performance gap and optimise investments. The project successfully delivered plug&play technologies for minimal disruption, interconnected for maximum impact on energy, costs, IEQ and user comfort. The new iterative approach to renovation, based on big data for continuous performance improvement reduced financial barriers and made the decarbonisation of existing buildings a reliable, attractive investment.

ABUD was in charge of monitoring standards and regulations in the target countries. We were involved with devising and adapting the renovation methodology, developing strategies for stakeholder engagement and implementing life-cycle assessment (LCA) for building material. One of the pilot project was Zöld Liget Kindergarten in the 18th district of Budapest.
