Sustainability in Architectural Design Tenders
Sustainability versus architectural design tenders in Hungary – read our series of articles on Építészfórum
Senior Consultants Rebeka Dóra Balázs and Viktor Bukovszki embarked on a journey to explore how sustainability is represented in high-level design tenders in Hungary.
As the result, a series of articles was born. The whole spectrum of the tender process of three large-scale architectural design tenders were analysed (Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem, Építészet Ligete and Nyugati Railway Station) in order to find out how they contribute to the sustainable paradigm shift in architecture. The series of articles appeared on Építészfórum (in Hungarian), one of the leading media platforms about the Hungarian architecture practice.
- The first article in the series analyses how sustainability is approached within the call for tenders. What are the exact requirements for sustainability – or the lack of these – that submissions have to comply with? Read the article here: Three Architectural Design Tenders from the Point of View of Sustainability: Sustainability Elements within the Tender Annoucements
- The following, second article analyses how the evaluation committee appreciates sustainability elements within a high-level tender. Three Architectural Design Tenders from the Point of View of Sustainability: Criteria for Judgement
- Finally, the third article looks into the changes that are necessary for achieving a more sustainable approach and a subsequent paradigm shift in Hungarian architecture. Three Architectural Design Tenders from the Point of View of Sustainability: Towards Sustainable Architecture
