SUSTAINABILITY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR REDUCING THE ENERGY NEED OF OFFICE AND COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS

 

For the first time in Hungary, a unified set of professional recommendations has been developed to reduce the energy consumption of commercial and office buildings, addressing the entire construction process.

This unique document focuses on how office and commercial buildings can be constructed and operated with the lowest possible installed capacity, and offers concrete recommendations aimed at the stakeholders involved in every step of the development, such as investors, developers, architects, consultants, building users, building operators, public utility service providers, government authorities and legislators.

The sustainability recommendations have been prepared by the experts of ABUD and the Hungarian Real Estate Developers’ Round Table (IFK – Ingatlanfejlesztői Kerekasztal Egyesület), based on the data provided by its members and by LEO National Association of Facility Management, Building Operation and Maintenance Service Providers.

The set of recommendations apply to the entire real estate sector, as they help optimise energy capacities, improve sustainability and contribute to the competitiveness of the market.
