GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR ENSNARE PROJECT IN TARTU
In the beginning of June, the ENSNARE project consortium met in Tartu, Estonia, to review the renovation of its first demo building
The recent General Assembly for the ENSNARE project in Tartu, Estonia, represented a critical juncture in advancing residential building renovations. The pilot building in Tartu is the first of three buildings to be completed, with subsequent pilots located in Sofia, Bulgaria, and Sasso Scalo, Italy. The goal of ENSNARE is to encourage the use of renovation solutions by using digital tools and developing a new type of industrial building envelope mesh.
The gathering featured a tour of the pilot building in Tartu, renovated using both active and passive technologies, now displaying the ENSNARE system on two façades. The efforts are coordinated by ABUD, leading Work Package 7 (WP7). During the assembly, ABUD provided updates on the renovation processes and the current status of all three projects. Each client presented the challenges encountered, lessons learned, and tasks necessary for upcoming phases.
The renovation process, while challenging, provided invaluable insights for future projects. The comprehensive approach involved architects, engineers, municipalities, and various stakeholders, underscoring the collaborative nature of the initiative.
A detailed technical report detailing the project process and findings will be released soon. We extend our appreciation to the Municipality of Tartu for their hospitality and support. The dedication of all involved parties is pivotal in advancing sustainable, energy-efficient residential building renovations.
