Where obtaining fresh drinking water is an everyday struggle, creating water harvesting culture is a matter-of-life issue. ABUD colleague András Szollár spent his Christmas holiday helping on a construction of a water reservoir protoype, which will be educated among the local communities to end their fight against the scarcity of water.

"We lived with a village family whilst working with Jal Bhagirathi Foundation on a traditional technology for constructing Tankas (water reservoirs). JBS’s effort is to revive the technology among the desert communities of Rajasthan where women walk an average 3-4 kms to fetch water for their household. We have supported JBF with photo and video documentation of Tanka construction to help in designing a pamphlet which gives a stepwise photographic representation and a time lapse film showing the Tanka construction from start to end. These will be used to educate community on Tanka construction."
