Before the conceptual design phase of Budapest- ONE, a complex office building adjacent to a newly-designed intermodal hub, ABUD conducted research regarding climatic conditions, wind direction, traffic, transportation, building access and functional relations. The building shape was formed through a parametric design process, and the environmental effects of the decisions were analysed. Evaluations were made regarding the potential for natural ventilation, building shape, energy supply systems, energy source mix, green operation, environmentally-conscious materials, energy consumption, sustainable waste and water management, and other factors. Solar potential, 88 daylight analysis, and CFD simulations were also run.
