ALPHAGON OFFICE BUILDING TOUR – GREEN WALKS

Alphagon Office Building was introduced as part of a guided tour by CEO Dr. András Reith Phd

This year, World Green Building Week took place between 12-16 September. We were delighted to take part in ‘Green Walks’, organised by the Hungary Green Building Council (HuGBC) as part of #WGBW2022.

Construction industry professionals – architects, developers, FM specialists and those interested –  had the opportunity to visit a number of great examples of green buildings as part of the Green Building Week initiative. Our CEO, Dr. András Reith PhD led the tour of Alphagon Office Building shedding light on behind-the-scenes aspects of planning, implementation and operation in order to facilitate knowledge transfer and the sharing of good practices.

Alphagon Office Building was completed in 2019. At an early design stage, our focus was on evaluating the potential impacts of characteristically different façade and building services solutions to meet the client’s expectations with regards to energy and comfort performance (Energy Optimisation). The studies broadly classify into façade, lighting, HVAC and renewable energy technologies (GSHP, PV) and energy performance analysis. Additionally, setting up a complex sustainability strategy for the project addresses the certification aspirations of the client.
Participants of the walk were able to acquaint themselves with the holistic sustainability concept behind the planning of the building and the different architectural and engineering solutions used to comply with specific needs and requirements due to its location. Special focus was placed on optimising the building for the use of natural light and developing the most suitable HVAC solutions. Furthermore, throught the tour, András emphasized the responsiblity of an architect for its environment and future users in every aspect of the planning process.
