Our CEO, Dr. András Reith participated in an honest and deeply insightful panel discussion about sustainability and the future of the property market, focusing on the possibilities of building renovation, reconstruction and adaptive reuse instead of new construction. The discussion was organised as part of Property Investment Forum on 28 September.
The conversation focused on market reality, current demands and trends, the obstacles and their potential solutions in reaching our sustainability objectives, as well as regulatory practices and best practice shaping the proprety market.
The construction industry is on the brink of significant change – not only in terms of digitization but also in terms of products. Instead of new construction, renovation will be at the forefront. The transition will only be sustainable if the industry becomes much more honest and avoids greenwashing. Everyone involved has a significant responsibility and role to play. The main concern from the audience was about profit – however, there still is (and will be) profit, we just have to structure our businesses differently.
